Biography

J. Scott was born in Cheverly, Maryland and grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota.  He has called Los Angeles his home since 1994, and has worked as a professional actor since 1996.   Film, Television, and Theatre: all 3 venues satisfy J. Scott’s passion for “Bringing the page to life”.  He has been a part of several theatre companies, and has enjoyed learning his craft under the tutelage of people like Alfred Molina, Milton Katselas (along with many skilled teachers at the Beverly Hills Playhouse), and Thomas G. Waites.   Having worked with some of the top directors and talent in the industry, J. Scott has taken a lifetime of experiences, and has learned how to create and fill a moment with the simplicity of what is true for that character in THAT moment.
 
Prior to his LA life, J. Scott served in the military for 10 ½ years.  A graduate of West Point, his military career included becoming Airborne and Ranger qualified, and fighting in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq.
 
Along with acting, J. Scott’s passion for staying fit keeps him busy between projects.  He works as a personal trainer, specializing in both individual and group physical fitness.
 
Relishing any opportunity to share his passion for acting,
J. Scott travels the country teaching acting to both kids and adults alike, and continues to study and hone his craft as he actively pursues film, TV, and stage roles.
